Tutorial

Upon launching iFlix, the loading screen will appear.

When the Add Account and Edit buttons appear in the Accounts view, iFlix is ready to use.

Tapping the Add Account button from the Accounts view will bring you to the Create Account view.

After entering your Netflix email and password, click the Save button to add the account, or Cancel to discard and return to the accounts

Tapping the Edit button in the Accounts view will allow you to remove accounts.

Tap the delete control on the left of the account you’d like to remove, then tap the confirm Delete button on the right.

In this initial version of iFlix, removing an account is required to correct a password or username issue.  Editing accounts, as well as more user settings will be added soon.

Tap any row to sign on to that netflix account.

The Loading/Cancel sheet will appear while sign on completes.

Signing on will always bring you to the Queue view for  that account.

Pressing the Edit button will allow you to remove and reorder movies in your queue.

When you are finished editing, the Done button will return you to the normal view.

To reorder an item, press and hold the “grabber” control on the right until the row pops out from the others.

Then, simply drag the row down to where you want it in your queue and release.

Holding a row at the top or bottom of the view will slowly scroll through the movies so you can put the row exactly where you want it.

Sometimes you may want to move an item all the way to the top or bottom of your queue, and dragging can get a bit tedious, especially if your queue is very long.

Tapping a row while in “edit mode” will present the option to relocate the row very quickly.

As you might guess, you can remove unwanted items from your queue by tapping the delete control on the left of any row, followed by the confirm Delete button on the right.

The Recent tab lets you see movies you currently have at home or in the mail, along with those you’ve recently returned to Netflix.

This view makes it easier to rate movies you’ve watched recently (in the Movie Details view), as well as help jog your memory if you misplace a disc.

The Search tab lets you search for a specific movie by title.  The results should be displayed in order of popularity.

Use the keyboard to enter your search, then tap the Search button to complete.  If you decide not to search, the X button to the right will dismiss the keyboard.

The For You tab contains a list of Netflix recommended movies, based on your ratings of other movies.

If you want to help Netflix provide you even better recommendations, you can reject a recommendation by sliding your finger to the right across a row, then tapping the confirm Delete button.

The Browse tab allows you to access the current Top 100, New Releases, as well as 20 other “Top 25” categories.

Tapping any of the rows will bring you to the corresponding list.

Throughout iFlix, tapping the Add button in the upper right will switch the list into “Insert mode”.

While in Insert mode, tapping the green insert button on the left of any row will let you add a movie to the top or end of your queue.

Tapping on any movie row, will bring you to the Details view for that movie.

The Details view will let you see a larger thumbnail poster and the movie’s description.

After a short delay, the movie’s MPAA or television rating will appear, along with the average rating of the Netflix community.

The dots at the bottom of any details view allow you to rate a movie from 1 to 5 stars.

When you bring up the Details view for a movie you’ve already rated, the stars will appear along with the other ratings.

You can of course re-rate a movie at any time by tapping the star or dot, 1 through 5.

In addition, you can use the Add button in the upper right to add the movie to the top or bottom of your queue.
